Actions Against the Police

At James Murray Solicitors we are very proud of our record of helping people who feel they have been unfairly treated by those in authority, such as the police or prison service.
If you have been wrongfully arrested, assaulted during an arrest or whilst in custody, you may be entitled to claim compensation.
Our lawyers can also help you retrieve any items retained and are experienced in making formal complaints to the police or prison service for improper conduct.
Free or affordable action
In most cases anyone who is taking action against the police will have their case funded by LEGAL AID.
This means that the Government pays for the costs of the case.
In a small number of cases some clients may be asked to make a contribution towards the costs, but do not worry we will always tell you in advance before you decide to go ahead.
In some circumstances we will enter into a “No Win No Fee” agreement with you, depending upon the circumstances of your individual case.
